Save you trips to the doctor’s office.

germs
Good hand washing is the first line of defense against the spread of many illnesses — from the common cold to more serious infections, such as meningitis, bronchitis, the flu, hepatitis A, and most types of infectious diarrhea.

To minimize the germs passed around your family, make regular hand washing a rule for everyone, especially:
  • before eating and cooking
  • after using the bathroom
  • after cleaning around the house
  • after touching animals, including family pets
  • before and after visiting or taking care of any sick friends or relatives
  • after blowing one’s nose, coughing, or sneezing
  • after being outside (playing, gardening, walking the dog, etc.)
The few seconds you spend at the sink could save you trips to the doctor’s office.

Blood Purifiers.

blood purify

Green vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, beets, carrot and spinach have antioxidant compounds which helps the liver to detoxify blood and act as cleansing agents for the blood.
Juicy fruits such as melons, oranges, raspberries, apples, kiwis, grapefruits, pomegranates, cranberries and pineapple are all excellent blood purifying agents.
Tea when mixed with certain herbs can become an excellent blood cleansing beverage by removing toxins from the body. Some commonly used and easy to make types of herbal tea are ginger, peppermint, and dandelion.
Detoxification boosts the immune system.

For Healthy Heart and Brain-Fish.

Fish is a low-fat high quality protein. Fish isfish filled with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins such as D and B2 (riboflavin), rich in calcium and phosphorus and a great source of minerals, such as iron, zinc, iodine, magnesium, and potassium.
The American Heart Association recommends eating fish at least two times per week as part of a healthy diet.
Fish is packed with protein, vitamins, and nutrients that can lower blood pressure and help reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke.
Eating fish is an important source of omega-3 fatty acids. These essential nutrients keep our heart and brain healthy.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids:
  • Help maintain a healthy heart by lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of sudden death, heart attack, abnormal heart rhythms, and strokes.
  • Aid healthy brain function and infant development of vision and nerves during pregnancy..
  • May prevent inflammation and reduce the risk of arthritis.

Face Wash? - Baking Soda.

Simply mix together 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of warm water to form a paste. Rinse your face with water and rub the mixture in circular motions over your face to gently cleanse the skin.
Baking soda, making your skin smoother, cleaner and fresher, can be an effective and cost-efficient alternative to a lot of expensive health and beauty products. A basic baking soda facial can also help get rid of acne and clear up rashes because it is a natural antibiotic that cures the underlying fungal infections. Baking soda can also slowly erase acne scars and speed the healing of acne damage.
It has mild antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that can ease inflammation, opens your pores and make your skin look better. It also helps aid in absorbing oil to prevent pores from clogging.

More Coffee??

Coffee is a drink made from coffee beans, which are the roasted fruit of the Coffea arabica bush. People drink coffee to relieve mental and physical  fatigue and to increase mental alertness.

Coffee is safe for most adults. Drinking more than 6 cups/day might cause “caffeinism” with symptoms such as anxiety or agitation. People who drink a lot of coffee every day may need to drink more coffee to get the same effects. They may also become “dependent” on coffee to the point that they develop withdrawal symptoms if they suddenly stop drinking it.

Coffee containing caffeine can cause insomnia, nervousness and restlessness, stomach upset, nausea and vomiting, increased heart and breathing rate, and other side effects. Consuming large amounts of coffee might also cause headache, anxiety, agitation, ringing in the ears, and irregular heartbeats.

Highly addictive -Nicotine.

Tobacco is one of the most widely abused substances in the world. It is highly addictive.
Nicotine, the main addictive chemical in tobacco, causes a rush of adrenaline when absorbed in the bloodstream or inhaled via cigarette smoke.

Nicotine also triggers an increase in dopamine—the brain’s “happy” chemical. This stimulates the area of the brain associated with pleasure and reward. Like any other drug, use of tobacco over time can cause a physical and psychological addiction.

Tobacco and nicotine are addictive like alcohol, cocaine, and heroin. When you stop smoking or cutback your tobacco use, you experience withdrawal. When going through withdrawal you may experience:
·         Anxiety
·         Irritability
·         Headache
·         Hunger
·         Cravings for cigarettes and other sources of nicotine

Nicotine withdrawal is short-lived and symptoms pass in time, usually less than a week. Withdrawal is the most uncomfortable part of quitting, but the real challenge is beating long-term cravings and staying away from tobacco.

Know your Tongue.

tongue

The tongue has a coating, which represents the state of digestive function in our body. The coating of the tongue is actually made up of bacteria that reside on the tongue. It is interesting in that most people think they can scrape the coating off of the tongue. In fact, scraping the coating does very little and the bacteria will grow back immediately.

The fact that there are bacteria on the tongue should not be surprising in light of the fact that bacteria reside throughout our entire digestive tract. As such, you cannot actually remove the bacteria from your tongue just by scraping it.

The ideal tongue coating consists of a thin, white film on the surface of the tongue. A thin, white coating indicates that the stomach and digestive system is healthy and functioning in the process of transforming and digesting food.
If the coating is grey, black  or brown, you can assume Vata toxins; if the coating is orange, reddish, yellow or green, this indicates Pitta toxins; and finally is there is a thick, whitish coating you can think Kapha toxins. This can be quite helpful as each toxin should be treated different, depending on which dosha is involved.

Apple seeds contain a cyanide compound.

applleApples are one such fruit: their pips (seeds) contain amygdalin, [Cherry, peach, and apricot pits also contain amygdalin] a cyanide and sugar compound that degrades into hydrogen cyanide (HCN) when metabolized.

Cyanide itself is a poison that kills by denying blood the ability to carry oxygen and thereby causes its victims to die of asphyxiation. At least within the realm of murder mysteries, cyanide is the darling of poisoners because it acts quickly and irrevocably: once a fatal dose has been ingested, there is no effective antidote, and death takes place within minutes.

This message is not to panic but aware you. Thank fully the amount of cyanide in these seeds are very less that our immune system nullify it.

Spots and Lines on Your Nails

Spots and Lines on Your Nails

Small white spots on the nails may indicate calcium or zinc deficiencies or calcium build-up in organs depending on finger. For example, spots on the ring finger suggest calcium in the kidney, on the middle finger indicates the small intestine, and if on the index finger it could be related to the lungs.
Horizontal lines on the nails may be indicative of digestive disturbances. Brittle nails can reflect thyroid or kidney problems. Vertical ridges indicate chronic imbalances in the vata dosha, which could signify malabsorption of minerals and protein as well as vitamin B12 and iron deficiencies.

One symptom of hypothyroidism is brittle nails (along with dry skin and hair). Brittle or weak nails may also be caused by certain nutritional deficiencies. Calcium, iron, silica, and sulphur deficiencies can all weaken nails. A vitamin A deficiency may result in brittle nails and splitting of the nails.

Food For Liver.

One of the best things you can do for your liver is to eat a healthy, plant-based diet. Health experts recommended eliminating or reducing animal foods to care for your liver, just as much as they do eliminating alcohol, refined sugar, excess caffeine, and processed foods.
Why? A whole foods, plant-based diet is free of toxins that are found in animals, such antibiotics, natural hormones, along with a host of other ingredients. It’s also rich in antioxidants, naturally cleansing properties like fiber and water, and contains non-acidic proteins that are more friendly to your body than animal sources.
Considering 85-90 percent of all blood that leaves your stomach and intestines after digestion goes straight to your liver for the processing of nutrients or the removal of toxins, you can easily see why it’s important to eat a diet that’s friendly to your blood and liver – so your liver can produce nutrients more than it does filter out toxins!
Here are 10 of the top liver-friendly foods to include in your diet, which aid in daily cleansing, rejuvenation, detoxification, and nourishment for the vital organ in your body:
1. Beets
2. Broccoli
3. Sweet Potatoes
4. Lemons
5. Lentils
6. Healthy fats: that are beneficial for your liver include: avocados, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and almonds, along with olives, coconut, chia seeds, and flax seeds. Other nuts and seeds are also beneficial, but be sure to avoid most oils, which can be hard on the liver to process and distribute into nutrients.
7. Apples
8. Garlic
9. Onions
10. Leafy Greens

Digestive Enzymes -Sprouted seeds, legumes

Digestive enzymes can help provide relief from heartburn, acid reflux, sluggish bowels and diarrhea. A body in balance doesn't need supplemental enzymes because it produces them on its own.

Supplemental enzymes do help some people better access nutrients from the food they eat, especially if they suffer from digestive distress. Instead of reaching for a pill, consider your lifestyle habits and diet as a way to naturally increase the production of the digestive enzymes in your body.

Digestive enzymes may be in their most-readily available form when you eat them in foods that are in their raw state. Raw food dieters claim that the digestive enzymes in vegetables and fruit are diminished when these foods are heated over 118 degrees Fahrenheit. However, your stomach acids often break down these enzymes immediately, even when you eat raw food.

But, increasing your intake of raw foods -- particularly fruits and vegetables -- can help cleanse your system and improve digestion, because they contain large amounts of fiber, antioxidants and phyto nutrients. A healthy gut produces appropriate amounts and appropriate types of digestive enzymes.

Supplement your normal diet with foods that also offer large amounts of digestive enzymes.Sprouted seeds and legumes, soaked nuts, papaya, pineapple, mango and kiwi all serve as a significant source of digestive enzymes.Avocado, raw honey, coconut oil and raw dairy products are other quality sources.

Increase Circulation.

Abhyanga provides the means for trans-dermal absorption of the healing qualities of the material used in the massage, and it helps the skin, which is the largest organ in the body, perform its diverse functions efficiently, whether it is allowing toxins to be released from the body or nourishment to be absorbed by the tissues. It is like oiling the engine of your car — if you do it regularly, your engine will be in peak condition, and give you years and years of trouble-free performance.
The ayurvedic massage is traditionally performed in the morning, before your bath or shower, to facilitate the release of toxins that may have accumulated during the previous night. You can use cured sesame oil, an herbalized massage oil, or an aroma massage oil.

Abhyanga — the ayurvedic oil massage — is an integral part of the daily routine recommended by this healing system for overall health and well-being. Traditional ayurvedic texts wax eloquent on the benefits. Here's what one says — "Give yourself a full-body oil massage on a daily basis.

It is nourishing; pacifies the doshas; relieves fatigue; provides stamina, pleasure and perfect sleep; enhances the complexion and the luster of the skin; promotes longevity; and nourishes all parts of the body."

Here are some of the benefits traditionally associated with regular performance of this pleasant daily ritual:
·         Increased circulation, especially to nerve endings
·         Toning of the muscles and the whole physiology
·         Calming for the nerves
·         Lubrication of the joints
·         Increased mental alertness
·         Improved elimination of impurities from the body
·         Softer, smoother skin
·         Increased levels of stamina through the day

·         Better, deeper sleep at night

Oil and detoxification

A unique aspect of Ayurveda is its use of large amounts of oily substances in treatment. Anyone who has had an Ayurvedic massage in India will have experienced this! External massage with sesame oil or ghee balances Vata dosha by countering its rough, dry properties. As such, oil massage can be very effective in Vata problems such as osteoarthritis, stress, insomnia and paralysis.
However, ghee is more often used internally than for external massage. In Ayurvedic detoxification (Panchakarma) increasing doses of ghee are given each morning to prepare the body.
Patients are also given a daily oil massage which brings toxins out of fatty tissues, followed by steam therapy to bring toxins to the surface.  After several days, these are eliminated with different techniques such as emesis (vomiting), purgatives, enemas and nasal therapy to cleanse the body.

Weight Gain..

Ghee for weight gain:Regular consumption of ghee or inclusion of ghee as part of diet, is recommended for those seeking weight gain. Ghee is useful for people with emaciation, having lean body, having dryness of skin.
Ghee for sex:Ghee is useful to improve quality of Shukra Dhatu (male and female reproductive system). With its immense nourishing health benefits, it is indicated for people who indulge in daily sex.  (Ashtanga  Hrudayam 16/5)

Cow Ghee

Cow ghee promotes memory, intellect, power of digestion, semen, Ojas,
Kapha and fat.

It alleviates Vata, Pitta
Visha – toxic conditions
Unmada – insanity,
Shosha – emaciation
Alakshmihara – it is auspicious.
It is the best of all the unctuous substances.
Cold in potency and sweet both in taste as well as Vipaka.
When administered according to the prescribed procedure, it increases, thousand times in potency and develops manifold utilities.

Ghee - Digestion Strength.

Effect of ghee on digestion strength:
Pitta and fire are inter-related. Usually, the substances that balance Pitta, also cause depletion of digestion fire. But ghee is an exception. It balances Pitta Dosha but it increases digestion strength.
However, it does not help in Ama (altered digestion and metabolism condition). In a normal person, if digestion strength is a bit low, then ghee is useful in improving his digestive capacity.

Ghee is quite similar to milk in qualities, but unlike milk, ghee improves digestion. (Bhava Prakasha)
It is one of the essential dietary ingredients for those debilitated due to treatments.

It helps improve digestion power. (Ashtanga Hrudaya Su. 9/27)
It nourishes body tissues, suitable for people of all ages.
It strengthens sense organs, immunity,
It improves tone and strength of the voice.
It begets longevity.  (Ashtanga Hrudaya Sutrasthana 10/22)
It is useful for those taking alcohol regularly, for women, who do regular exercise, for old and for young.

Brain Tissues don't have......

When you say you have a headache, technically speaking, it isn't your head that?s hurting. Did you know brain tissues and skull bones don?t have the nerve fibers that are sensitive to pain and therefore can?t generate the sensation of pain? So why does your head hurt with a migraine?

Migraine headaches have something to do with the blood vessels, that is why they are called vascular headaches. When you are experiencing migraine, your temporal artery is enlarged, which is located just under the skin at your temple. When this happens, it makes the tiny nerve fibers twisted around it to release chemicals.

The chemicals released cause pain, inflammation, and further enlargement of the temporal artery. The greater the swelling, the worse your pain becomes. So why does this artery enlarge to the point of causing severe pain?
The answer may lie in another naturally occurring chemical in the body. There are two major neurotransmitters in the brain that control blood vessel size, and one of them is Serotonin. Studies have shown that before a migraine occurs, there is a high level of serotonin. During the migraine, its level drops to an abnormally low level.
While the actual cause of migraines remains a mystery,

Ayurvedic View: According to Ayurvedic principles, migraine is a tridosha disorder,Out of the three doshas, Vata and pitta dosha are the prominent factors.

Vata controls the nervous system and brain activity and it is the imbalance of this Vata that causes the diseases. Vata imbalance arises due to improper metabolism, poor elimination, mental and physical stress, viewing of TV for long periods, reading with insufficient light, sleeplessness, etc.Out of the three doshas, pittadosha is the most prominent factor. "Pitta" causes dilation of the blood vessels, which causes the onset of a migraine attack.
